CornerTalk is a mobile app for organising small-group, in-person meetups around topics you care about — at a local cafe, with real people, in real time. There are no profiles to curate, no feeds to scroll, and no followers to chase.

Designed to keep you safe

Meeting strangers comes with real responsibilities. CornerTalk has built-in protections at every layer — from who can use the app to what happens when something goes wrong.

CornerTalk is for people aged 18 and over. Meeting strangers in person is not appropriate for children, and we take that responsibility seriously.

Public venues, always

All meetings must take place at a public cafe. The app surfaces the venue address only to confirmed participants. Never agree to meet someone from CornerTalk in a private location.

No personal details required

You choose a nickname — that is the only identity other users see. No real name, phone number, or home address is ever collected or displayed.

No money, no contact info

CornerTalk will never ask you for money. Do not share financial details or personal contact information through the app or at meetings.

Incompatibility blocking

Users who have been reported or blocked are automatically excluded from appearing in each other's CornerTalks, so you never unknowingly end up in the same meeting.

Automated, anonymous reporting

Reports are processed automatically. No personal information about who submitted a report is ever shared with another user.

Reporting someone

If someone at a meeting makes you uncomfortable or violates these guidelines, reporting is quick and discreet.

Tap the flag icon in the bottom navigation to enter report mode, then select the person you want to report from the meeting screen.

You will be asked to select a reason:

  • Threatening or violent behaviour
  • Harassment
  • Illegal activity
  • Sexualised content
  • Suspicious or predatory behaviour
  • Spam / fake account

Reports are for terms of use violations only — not personal disagreements. The reporting system is fully automated and no personal information about reports is shared between users.
